Enjoy our pictures of this year's Portland dog shows. We took four dogs--baby Anthem, Coal, Barry, and Booty, and travelled with Kate, her friend Aly, Linda, and our friends from Klamath Falls, Shelly and Amanda (plus Diane and Sonz, of course). Coal thrilled us by not only winning the 12-18 month dog class every day, but by going Winner's Dog and Best of Breed on Saturday, over nationally ranked specials. The Labrador entry that day was 84, and over 4,000 dogs total were entered. Animal Planet filmed the group that night, and we had a ball! (Even though you probably won't recognize me, as Amanda did my hair and makeup.) Our wonderful friends brought down the rafters with their screams as Coal took his turn, to the point that as I went back in line, one of the other handlers said to me--"What did THAT cost you?" Thanks to all my great friends for making it a show to remember. Even if we did cause a little trouble afterwards by playing in the agility ring, but the girls asked permission. Not like the young security guard had any choice when those two walked up to him and asked for a favor. ;-) We had a good time.
